Who We Are

We're Annie and Tony — a British-Aussie husband and wife team. Tony is a product designer. I've spent years working in interiors and it's always been a passion. Between us, we care deeply about how things look, how they work, and what goes into them.

Colt & Willow is what happens when those things collide.

How it started

I was cleaning my daughter's high chair.

She was about to eat from it, and I was spraying it down with a conventional surface cleaner - and something stopped me.

I didn't want to use something harsh on the surface my daughter's food was going to touch.

So I put the bottle down and started making my own instead.

Vinegar, water, geranium essential oil - a natural disinfectant that actually worked and smelled beautiful.

That was the moment Colt & Willow began.

From kitchen experiment to proper product.

Making your own works, but it's not a long-term solution for a busy family. We wanted something that performed like a proper cleaner, smelled genuinely beautiful, and contained nothing we'd rather not have around our children.

We partnered with a small family-run formulation business to develop plant-based formulas that actually work — no compromise on performance, no harsh chemicals, no ingredients we couldn't stand behind.

Tony brought his product design background to the bottles. Our kitchen is tiny — there's no space to hide anything away. These bottles were going to be out on the counter every single day, used constantly after mealtimes with a baby. So they had to be beautiful. Not as an afterthought — as a requirement.

That's still true for every bottle we make.

Most conventional cleaning products contain ingredients that aren't required to be disclosed on the label. Unlike food, medicine or cosmetics, cleaning products have no legal obligation to tell you what's inside. We think that's worth changing.
