Deep Cleaning Checklist

How’s the lockdown treating you? We are on day 10 and to say I have been through a whole range of different emotions would be an understatement. But today I feel calm and ready to tackle some jobs - jobs that I have definitely closed the door or the draw on and thought I would put off for another time.

Well the day is here I can procrastinate no more. Today is my deep clean of the house, all cupboards will be opened and dealt with and all corners of the house will be scrubbed… Well that’s the hope anyway – between children and a husband at home this might be called trying to overachieve!!

To keep me focused and on track I’ve written a list of what I should do in each room, and I thought I would share it with you in case you need motivation. I would also recommend a good podcast or music as it can definitely keep you going on even the most mundane tasks.

My top tip is to start on a sunny day. If the sun is shining it makes me want a clean house and it’s much nicer to have the windows wide open and to let the fresh air in.

Also don’t forget the areas we don’t think of so often (especially that we are now cleaning to help rid covid-19 bugs from the house). Areas such as door handles and light switches, cupboard doors and fridge handles. I recently recommended over on Instagram using an old spray bottle with washing up liquid and warm water, it’s great for running around and squirting all the above areas to get rid of grease and grime. Soap has become our best friend when it comes to combating coronavirus.

Right back to the list! Happy cleaning everyone.
